Steven leads MNK Re’s Kenyan operations, based in Nairobi. His focus is on expanding MNK Re’s presence in Kenya and by extension, the wider COMESA region, while developing relationships with underwriters and reinsurers in those markets.
Prior to MNK Re, Steven worked for 12 years as Chief Executive for a prominent East African insurer, ICEA LION General. Before that, he also served as Chief Executive of Tanzania National Reinsurance Corporation Ltd (TAN-RE) and earlier in senior executive roles at ZEP-RE and Kenya Reinsurance Corporation.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi and an MBA from United States International University (USIU) in Nairobi in conjunction with Columbia Business School, New York. Steven is a qualified ACII and a Chartered Insurer.
